What you need for practice
Always be prepared for practice. Your swimmer should bring:
Dry Land Practice (when the water is too cold)
- Wear athletic clothes (shorts, t-shirt, tennis shoes)
- Towel (a place to lay down if they do sit-ups)
- Bug spray (it's Houston, and mosquitoes attack)
- Sun block (especially for the sunny practices)
- WaterÂ
- Always come prepared to possibly get in the water (see water practice)
Water/Swim Practice
- SwimsuitÂ
- Boys: jammer or racer (trunks are okay, but weight them down)
- Girls: one piece (NO bikinis/two piece)
- Goggles (always have an extra pair)
- Swim cap (always have an extra one)
- Towel (always have an extra one)
- Sun block
